Warning! PayPal is warning its 400 million users to check their inboxes for signs of suspicious emails. The email could be a sign of a thief trying to steal money from your bank account. Be sure to check for the following four signs:
1. Unusual sender address – check the address of the sender. Is it familiar? Does it look legitimate?
2. Odd language – look for incorrect spelling and grammar, as well as sudden shifts in tone.
3. Strange attachments – any unknown attachments should be investigated before opening.
4. Unusual requests – does the email request a strange payment or require you to download unknown software?
If you come across any emails that contain these four signs, report it immediately to PayPal’s customer service team. Your financial security is of the utmost importance.
