A local philanthropist and businessperson, Monica Baffoe, donated desks to some selected deprived schools in the Cape Coast region recently.
2. The donor of the desks chose the schools based on their most urgent needs for school furniture and learning materials.
3. Monica has donated more than 1000 desks in total to help upgrade the infrastructure and boost educational standards in the schools.
4. The organization/foundation behind this said it aims at creating conducive learning environments for learners in Ghana’s deprived regions as a move towards supporting education for all children regardless of their social class or background.
5. In an interview with a local news outlet, the donor said she was inspired by seeing how dedicated students were to learning despite limited resources provided by their school and government not being enough to support them optimally.
6. Through her organization, named EducAid Ghana, Monica has been able to help provide quality standard desks that are strong and long lasting as well as giving these rural communities access to better educational facilities which will eventually help ensure every student equitably gets an education that can take them further in life both socially and professionally.
7. This is only one of many projects already underway by EducAid Ghana, which is providing various forms of assistance ranging from clean water provision to health assistance through hygiene awareness campaigns for thousands of people living in rural areas across Ghana who may be unable to access such services due to financial constraints or any other factor beyond their control
